Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for experienced Slaters to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role involves working across a range of commercial and residential properties in South London and various surrounding locations, undertaking all aspects of slate roofing work from installation to repair and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Install and repair slate roofing systems on pitched roofs
- Remove existing roofing and prepare surfaces for new slating
- Cut, shape, and lay slate tiles to specification
- Identify and repair faults or damage in slate roofing systems
- Ensure all work is completed to industry standards and client expectations
- Maintain and store tools, equipment, and materials responsibly
- Work safely at height and comply with all relevant health and safety regulations
- Accurately report job status and completion details
Requirements
- Proven experience as a slater or in roofing with slate materials
- Strong knowledge of slating techniques and materials
- Ability to read and follow architectural plans and instructions
- Comfortable working at height and in various weather conditions
- Physically fit with good hand-eye coordination
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team
- NVQ or equivalent qualification in Roofing/Slating (preferred but not essential)
Location & Travel
- Work will be based in South London with regular travel to other locations as required
- Flexibility in site location and working hours is essential
Compensation
- Salary: £45,000 per annum
- Overtime and weekend work may be available depending on project requirements
